Bear town Worbis
The town of Leinefelde-Worbis with its nine districts is located in the middle of the scenic Eichsfeld on the
southwestern edge of the Harz between the Dün and Ohmgebirge mountain ranges. Leine, Wipper, Ohne and
Hahle, among others, originate here. The second largest district is Worbis.
Worbis was originally mentioned as “Wurbeke” for the first time in 1162. The state-recognized resort attracts
many visitors, particularly because of the alternative bear park and the historic city center with churches and
half-timbered buildings.
