Bockenem - the center of the Ambergau

Bockenem (11,000 inhabitants) is conveniently located on the A7 / Hanover - Kassel motorway.
The Harz can be reached in just a few minutes by car. The core town of Bockenem consists almost entirely of
half-timbered buildings in the city center - most of them from the years after 1847. In 1847, a fire destroyed over
90% of all buildings in the city. The Gothic hall church of St. Pankratius and the Tillyhaus, as well as some streets
that are now characterized by a special flair, were spared. Bockenem, with its 18 districts today, has developed into
a young specialist workshop that has a lot to offer in addition to historical buildings.
