Dannenberg (Elbe) ... lovely half-timbered town
Small historic half-timbered town with Lake Thielenburg and the Waldemar Tower as a local museum.
From afar, the Waldemar Tower, which dates back to the 12th century, and the St. John's Church dominate the
silhouette of the lovely city. In the old town you will find numerous well-kept half-timbered houses, which look
particularly impressive in the ensemble thanks to their simplicity. The historic town hall dominates the market with
its meaningful inscription “Wi Börgers hebbn de Last darvon un mütt dat all betohlen”.
Numerous inns and cafés around the market square invite you to linger in front of their magnificent half-timbered
gables.
